Healing is understanding, because once we understand; we can begin to shift. Anxiety is fear of the future and fear that the past repeats itself. It is our subconscious trying to protect us. Its our subconscious saying - "This reminds me of a situation you were in before, and I won't let it happen to you again! " Take the veteran, re-living the horrendous images of war, it is the subconscious saying "Hey - I will keep on showing you this, to make sure you never go back there. " I grew up in an abusive household and carried the emotions of my past into my present and future, but once I understood this, I started to heal.
